Thank you for taking the time to help make Ubuntu better. This bug report would be more useful if it contained more information, such as a step by step process to reproduce this bug. Ideally someone that has never used evolution before should be able to read your report and recreate your bug. If you could please add this it would be very appreciated, thank you!

this bug also affects me... so I am including more info

This bug is 100% reproducible (at least for me...)

Steps to reproduce:
under Preferences -> Calendar and Tasks -> General under Work days check all but Saturday and Friday
and make sure that under Display make sure that "Compress weekends in month view" is checked.

Expected behavior:
Saturday and Friday should be compressed into a single column.

Actual behavior:
Evolution compresses Saturday and Sunday instead, the default behavior, while marking the weekends with dark grey correctly.

Package Versions:
evolution 2.28.3-0ubuntu10
evolution-common 2.28.3-0ubuntu10
evolution-exchange 2.28.3-0ubuntu10
evolution-plugins 2.28.3-0ubuntu10
evolution-couchdb 0.4.5-0ubuntu1
evolution-data-server 2.28.3.1-0ubuntu5
evolution-data-server-common 2.28.3.1-0ubuntu5
evolution-webcal 2.28.0-1
evolution-indicator 0.2.8-0ubuntu1

I think that weekend compression is hard-coded to Saturday and Sunday, or is controlled by some hidden setting...
It won't be hard to fix...

On a related note, the "Compress weekends in month view" option has no effect. If unchecked, Sat/Sun are still compressed.

Same for me here. I use only the monthly view and most of my activities are at the weekend. I hate those regressions.

Pedro, I filed the original upstream bug last year. This issue is not resolved in Natty using Evolution 2.32.2. Reopening. See reproduction instructions at upstream:
