bzr commit or update crashes with gnomekeyring IO error

Bug Description
I am trying to commit a branch on a machine named "leech" to a repository I host on a machine called "pachy". I am logged in to "leech" using ssh from a third machine called "pad". I also have an open X session running on "leech", but I am not using that session. When I type "bzr commit" or "bzr update", I get an error:
bzr: ERROR: gnomekeyring.
with the attached crash file. When I run "bzr update" from "pad" (which has the same branch checked out) I get no error. Terminating the X session does not help.
