Bug Description
Binary package hint: openoffice.org
When I am using DataPilot and want to change one of the pull-down menu choices - frequently OO.org freezes with the pull-down menu displayed. Unfortunately, when OO.org crashes it takes all of Ubuntu 10.4 with it! (Not sure how that is possible). I need to hit the power button, then I can use the keyboard to reboot the computer and say it is OK to reboot even though oo.org is still running.
Interestingly, this happened once when I was running a script and the script continued until it was completed, but I am totally frozen out of using the computers - gui nor can I switch to an open terminal. I suppose gnome is crashing with OO.org. It is very annoying.
PS -- the file is rather large (1.9 MB) and this problem used to be much worse when I was using a larger file (3.2MB).

Bill Tihen, thank you for reporting this bug and making Ubuntu better. Could you please attach, bz2 compressed, the file(s) that demonstrate this problem? As well, I am curious what is your hardware specifications (RAM, CPU, board, etc.)? If it is OEM provided, manufacturer & model?
