Bug Description

Gnome-ppp should be the default dialup connection application that the new user sees after installing Ubuntu as network-manager has problems and pppconfig is gui less.

Confirming this should be included. If this is not included it is impossible to dial-out, and hence impossible to connect to the internet. Network-Manager no longer supports dial-up, but there is a bug report which is getting "little to no" attention on that here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/74142

Many users around the are having problems with network manager, especially for USB 3G modems.
We are able to connect using wvdial and gnome-ppp since its dial-up support is much better than the network manager.
It is in good interest of everyone to integrate these two packages and make wvdial the default for network manager.

Presently I am using gnome-ppp while typing this and the network manager says i am offline and is passing this wrong information to all other application!!! meanwhile any temporary fix will be highly appreciated
