No Touchpad tab in System->Preferences->Mouse on Dell Latitude E6510

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

My Dell Latitude E6510 running Ubuntu 10.04 has an in-built touchpad, but I do not see a Touchpad tab in System->Preferences->Mouse , this despite xserver-xorg-input-synaptics being installed.
