The helper programs (xfi, xfq, xfv) do not work as expected

In a directory listing, left click on a text file and select "view". This should result in the file contents being displayed in a new window.
The foxlib registry file (/usr/lib/foxrc/Desktop) determines which helper program should be invoked. Someone thought fit to change the names of the helper programs without telling xfe (by amending the foxlib registry file). Unfortunately, it would appear that a "sed" script might just make a mess of it. To complicate matters more, the user can add refinements of his/her own in ~/.foxrc/XFileExplorer/*.

Surely, I cannot be the first xfe user since Oct 2003 (#204846 and #224444). A soft link from xfileview to xfv seems to cure it.
What are the name clashes with "xfi", "xfq" and "xfv" ?

I'd like to get this bug reopened. 8.04 x64 have the same problem - program names are xfileview xfilewriter xfileimage but preferences of xfe look for xfw xfe xfi. It's not a big deal o reset this by hand in xfe properties, by we want to have everything work without user playing around with it, right? :)
