Bug Description

Binary package hint: xsplash

On the first boot of kubuntu maverick, xsplash is displayed like this when installed with dual screens:
http://underrun.org/~gadget/xsplash.jpg

That is displayed on both screens, because by deafault the primary screen is mirrored on the second. The primary screen is 1024x768 and the second is 1280x1024.

I have a nVidia 8800gt graphics card which usualy works out of the box. Once kubuntu is booted, both screens and their resolutions are detected properly.

Note that there is a message just before xsplash starts which says something along the lines of 'removed generic video driver'. I'll post it here if I catch it again.

This isn't xsplash. I don't think Kubuntu ever used xsplash, and xsplash is not being used on any edition of Meerkat.
