Description: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS

Steps after first several crashes during manual install but before latest incident:
1. checked MD5SUM of install disc against downloaded MD5sum list
2. ran one complete cycle of memtest from the install disc
3. ran install disc's built-in integrity check

After starting install disc:
1. updated installer files from bottom of first screen (Choose language)
2. set time, chose keyboard
3. began manual partitioning

On at least four or five occasions during manual partitioning, installer has suddenly crashed without warning or error message.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your log files attached to this bug report it seems that there is a problem with your installation media (CD/DVD) or with your hardware. Please retry your installation with new media and if it still fails I'd recommend testing your CD drive with other media. In the event that is is not in fact an error with your installation media or hardware please set the bug's status back to New. Thanks and good luck!
