Bug Description

Binary package hint: gdm

It can be difficult (and I suspect in some cases impossible) to change the session type for a particular user, if the user is configured to login without prompting for a password. This is because the login operation happens as soon as the username is clicked, and does not give an opportunity to change the session type / language etc.

These are some ideas to solve the problem:

1. Either make the login options bar always visible (which I suspect would not be compatible with Ubuntu's minimal design theme).
2. Don't login when the username is clicked. Allow the username to be selected, and only login when the login button is pressed.
3. Add an option to manually show the session properties (maybe add to the menu which currently includes the "Universal Access Preferences" option).
