I understand the problem here. The problem is that GNOME Media Player uses vlc 1.0.6 (lucid) but your ppa has version 1.1.0 (not compatible with code). I have the fix. The solution will be that I will have to push 1.1.0 vlc to my ppa so that karmic and lucid users also get the latest features.

This affects me too, also if I haven't that c-korn ppa.

Just moments ago I updated my sistems, it installed libvlc5, uninstalling libvlc2, needed by gnome-media-player.

In fact, when i try to sudo apt-get install gnome-media-player it returns me this (I try to translate to you in brackets):

Lettura elenco dei pacchetti... Fatto [Reading packages list]
Generazione albero delle dipendenze [Generating dependencies]
Lettura informazioni sullo stato... Fatto [Reading status information]

I seguenti pacchetti hanno dipendenze non soddisfatte: [The following packages have broken dependencies:]
gnome-media-player: Dipende: libvlc2 (>= 1.0.0~rc1) ma non sta per essere installato [gnome-media-player: Depends: libvlc2 (>=1.0.0~rc1) but it is not going to be installed]
E: Pacchetto danneggiato [E: damaged package]

Hope this will help!
