unity quicklist launcher does not save new items

Bug Description
I can add new items to the launcher by selecting "add to launcher," but if I right-click the new entry again, it still gives me the option to "add to launcher" instead of "remove from launcher." The new icons stay in the launcher for the duration of the session, but disappear upon subsequent login.
