mounted volumes appear twice in nautilus and desktop

Bug Description

When mounting a volume to /media nautilus displays the icon for the mounted volume twice on the desktop. The same behavior occurs in the "Tree" side pane in nautilus as well.

This behavior does not happen if the volume is mounted to a location other than /media.

chuckyp discovered that this does not happen if UUID is not used in the fstab, and instead the traditional /dev/* path is used.

Here is my fstab line:
UUID=7d55eeee-ccfb-4c33-98e7-c28f5a24d37e /media/storage xfs defaults 0 2

Confirmed as stated. Switchin to /dev/* fixes double icon visibility or mounting to some other location than /media/ also fixes bug.
