Bug Description

After booting graphical distortions start to appear. Redrawing the screen seems to temporarily fix them and they slowly get worse the longer the machine has been booted.

See screenshot for an example and it can get much worse after 8 hours use.

This problem only started happening as of 10.04 LTS.

OS: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS

Box is a custom built machine. I will attach my xorg.conf and a screenshot.

Joel Heenan, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Lucid reaches EOL on May 9, 2013.
Please see this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

We were wondering if this is still an issue in a supported release? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p linux <replace-with-bug-number>

Thank you for your understanding.

Hi Chris,

Unfortunately I do not have access to the same hardware as when I logged this bug so I'm not able to assist in trying a nightly. Sorry about that.

Thanks

Joel
