Bug Description

Binary package hint: kwalletmanager

The application 'Kopete' requested access to the kwallet, and a dialogue appeared requesting password. As passwords tend to be, it is natural for me to type so I typed it in and pressed enter without paying much attention. At this point, there was a flashing caret in the password box.

It transpired that the password box had not got focus, even though it appeared to have: in fact, it was Konversation, which was previously focused, that still had it, causing me to send my password through IRC. This could be quite a security risk, since Konversation could have been anything and my password could have been somewhat more important than that.

Good evening,

I noticed the last update from this was from 2006-09-16 and I am wondering if you are still having a problem with this? Can you please update this bug?

Thanks,

Jonathan

I've invalidated it because the people I know who still use Kopete can't reproduce it on Gutsy, so it's either fixed or a problem elsewhere and nevertheless fixed.

Even though this is an ancient report, it affects 9.04. When the KDE wallet password request pops up, it does not receive focus. This is a potential security hole since people tend to enter their password without checking the focus first.
