Bug Description

Binary package hint: mythtv

When I watch Cops that I have recorded last night, about halfway through the show when a commercial is showing, MythTV segfaults. I repeated it like about 5 times already and I'm trying to get around a bad frame.

I could attribute this to losing signal since I have my antenna connected to my ATSC TV tuner.

This is very similar to that of Bug #74299 but since this bug report is 3 years old, I may have to just submit a duplicate just in case.

grayson@htpc:~$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS
Release: 10.04

grayson@htpc:~$ apt-cache policy mythtv-frontend
mythtv-frontend:
  Installed: 0.23.0+fixes24158-0ubuntu2
  Candidate: 0.23.0+fixes24158-0ubuntu2

        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/multiverse Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

If the frontend are to get a bad frame, it could ignore the frame, skip to the next frame, and if it encounters a bad frame again, repeat the skipping until the frontend finds a next good frame and continue playback.
