Bug Description

Binary package hint: empathy

Steps to reproduce:
1) Join group chat with Google Talk contacts
2) Remove focus from conversation
3) Miss all notifications of messages (Green indicator envelope, notify-osd)

Notifications still work for conversations on other protocols, just nothing from the Google Group chat.

thanks for the bug report. can you please go to empathy preferences and make it to use the old notification area icon by unticking 'display incoming events in the notification area' and see if the problem is still there.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the stable release - Oneiric Ocelot. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.
