Cursor doesn't show up in forum post text area

Annoying: cursor does not show up in text field (I noticed it in replies to forum entries on mahara.org v. 1.2) when first clicked into it. It's OK when some text has been written. Cursor shows up then, but also not always (Mac, Firefox 3.6.5). The problem seems to occur only the first time I log on because the cursor was there immediately for subsequent forum entries. But then at other times I did not have any cursor at all for a long time.

I have the same problem in the forums and it's pretty annoying.

I wonder whether it's Mahara's fault or TinyMCE's...

Ok, what browser are you using?

It's working for me now on FF 3.6.6.
(It also works on Windows -- I've successfully tried IE 8, FF 3.0, chrome 5.0.375.99, Safari 4.0.3)

Must be a vimperator thing then. It works fine on chromium.

Let's just leave it as fixed then and not worry about it.

It also works for me on Mac 10.6 in FF 3.6.6, Safari 5.0, Chrome 5.0.

I've encountered a similar/same problem on Mahara version 1.2, which is fixed for master dev 1.3

It is in regards to blog posts as opposed to forum posts though, the cursor does not appear in the text box when editing an existing saved draft blog post. It does appear after I shift focus to another browser tab then return though.

Steps:
-At my portfolio, my blogs add post
-save as draft
-return to edit post
Flashing cursor is not present.

Shifting focus from text box and returning makes it appear -whether this is tabbing around the page, browser tabs or to another application.

win 7, FF 3.6.8
