Bug Description
Ubuntu sometimes completely "crashes" using firefox and assumingly flash. Hard reboot necessary. Very annyoing.
This is a severe bug which I cannot explicitly link to any particular programme or package. This problem occurs for about the last two weeks, but not before. Now the system crashes a few times per day (I assume after one of the automatic updates of the last weeks).
When does it occur?
* Firefox open with some flash element on a webpage (advertisement or video). It does not matter whether the video is running or not. The problem occurs a few times a day.
* Suddenly the system does not react to any mouse click, any key or any key combination. However, the mouse cursor can be moved over the screen like there was no problem. That's why I put "crash" in double quote.
* The only solution is a hard reboot by pushing the power button for a few seconds.
* The behaviour is the same on both computer systems mentioned below.
After rebooting I checked several log files but I could not find any information about the crash. If I can help finding the real problem, please give me a hint where to find this information in the system. Thank you very much!

What is your architecture (32 or 64 bit)? Try disabling Compiz.
