Bug Description
From Alex Kozak:
The highlighting doesn't currently play well with pages that contain a mix of wikitext and HTML/CSS (for example, template pages). To me, the ability to edit large templates with syntax highlighting is the most promising use-case for this mode.

This would mean using something like mmm-mode. More research into how to do this is required.
