status change menu entries disabled after setting status to "logged out"

Reproduce:
- Add messaging accounts to empathy
- select status "available"
- select status "logged out"
Expected:
- Status radio button gets set to "logged out"
- User can select other status modes to change his status
Happened instead:
- status "available" still is still selected
- All status radio buttons get disabled
- User cannot select any status mode to get logged in again.

A workaround seems to be:
1. install package pidgin
2. start pidgin
result: empathy status radio buttons are enabled again and can be used again
