Ideas for the wishlist:
Easy
1. Add a tooltip to the Timeline buttons that indicate the keyboard hot-key (especially for the Move tool and Resize tool).
Difficult
2.a. Allow zooming in to 0.1 seconds.
2.b. Add handles at the end-points of each clip (e.g., an arrow pointing left on the left side, and an arrow pointing right on the right).
2.c. Click and drag the handle to resize the clip. Note: do not arbitrarily prevent the user from dragging the clip in either direction as far as desired. Sometimes the clip cannot be resized in one direction (for no apparent reason, other than that was the left-most position of where the clip was dragged).
2.d. Eliminate the Resize tool.
Background
I have a 30" monitor running at 2560x1600, with OpenShot expanded the entire length. When editing parts of the video that are on the far right, it is inefficient to have to move the mouse all the way back to the left to change from the Move tool to the Resize tool. (A task done quite often.)
I think it would be possible (and desirable) to make a multi-tool. It would combine the resize and move tool. If you are mousing over in the middle then it moves the clip. If you mouse over near the ends, then it resizes. Audacity has something like this.
