Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-applets

1) lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
Release: 10.04

2) apt-cache policy gnome-applets
gnome-applets:
  Installed: 2.30.0-0ubuntu2
  Candidate: 2.30.0-0ubuntu2
  Version table:
 *** 2.30.0-0ubuntu2 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

apt-cache policy gnome-panel
gnome-panel:

        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     1:2.30.0-0ubuntu1 0

3) What I expected to happen is after I pushed the power button on a Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5934 laptop it started with no problems.

4) What happened instead is that after I logged in, the trash bin icon was visually glitched (please see attached screenshot.png).

This problem also manifested itself coming out of hibernation. GNOME/pm-utils upstream believes that it was a driver issue that caused the glitch. Because this happened coming fresh from a clean shutdown, it seems this problem is due to the radeon driver:

sudo lshw -c display | grep driver
       configuration: driver=radeon latency=0
