Bug Description

*sigh* So, here we go again (no wonder people stick with Windows). Ubuntu 910 was working FINE. I installed 10.04 Lucid which looks great, but alas, neither MOVIE PLAYER nor VLC will do ANYTHING - not even open the DVD disk. I have downloaded ALL required Medibuntu packages/Ubuntu restricted etc, as per usual, to no effect. Strange thing is, everything works fine with Mint 9!
I'm running Lucid on a Dell Inspiron laptop model PP41L, but like I said, Mint 9 works PERFECTLY. So...why does Lucid have this problem????

Please advise?

Well..I loaded a few extra files from Synaptic Packages and lo! VLC & Movie Player now work! Seems this is one area where Mint9 installs same automatically. So: PROBLEM SOLVED!
