Using current unity in maverick quite often a white square is displayed next to notification area and indicators icons, clicking on it leads to an unity crash

Seb, it sounds like another system-tray is running (like gnome-panel), can you see if the issue occurs if you set UNITY_DISABLE_TRAY=1 before launching Unity?

I don't get it in a reliable way but I will try to see if I can figure what's going on, I doubt gnome-panel was running though since that was in an unity session started from gdm
