Bug Description

I prefer google-chrome to firefox due to its speed and ease of use, no matter the instability.

What prevents me from using it, however, is the fact that adobe-acrobat/evince/whatever don't work with it. More specifically, a gray screen is displayed when trying to open a PDF. In some cases, like many bank statements for example, the PDF is embedded into the page and can't be downloaded separately.

I hope this is indeed trivial to fix!

Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. However, a paper cut should be a small usability issue, in the default Ubuntu install, that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. So this bug can't be addressed as part of this project.

- Chromium is not included on the default install. Hence not a papercut.
For further information about papercuts criteria, please read https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PaperCut.

Don't worry though, this bug has been marked as "Invalid" only in the papercuts project.

Comments (unrelated to Vish's marking):
a) This is a chromium-browser issue (because google-chrome included a native PDF reader in the latest release; however google-chrome crashes all the time for "no reason" so its not even an option -- as a side-note);
b) This is rather trivial to fix: Include a package chromium-pdf-plugin or something, that copies some .so into /usr/lib/chromium-browser/plugins and removes all other non-working PDF reader plugins, or some such.

I probably wasnt clear earlier comment , Chromium is not the default for *Desktop* install. [androith it understood though :-) ]
