Bug Description

All Firefox browsing is reported simply as "Firefox" on the web site.
The console uploader shows

/bin/sh: /usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/RescueTimeUploader-unknown-py2.6.egg/RescueTimeUploader/extensions/Firefox/extended_info: Permission denied

This is happening with release 99.

Can you unpack "/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/RescueTimeUploader-unknown-py2.6.egg/" and see if the RescueTimeUploader/extensions/Firefox/extended_info file has execution permissions?

That file had permissions 644. After changing them to 755 the console uploader error message is gone and web site info started to appear (still haven't seen it uploaded yet but I expect it to show up eventually).

Thanks!

No problem. Can you supply more details about your system?

I am using Ubuntu 8.04, Python 2.5, and the latest version of setups tools and that file had the proper permissions when installed. So it's hard to know if this is a general bug or just a weird error on your specific configuration.

This is under Ubuntu 10.04, stock packages python 2.6.5-0ubuntu1, python-setuptools 0.6.10-4ubuntu1.

I have rebuilt & reinstalled the stock release 99 and the issue is reproduced. I have attached the logs of "python setup.py build" and "sudo python setup.py install" if they might help.

Does the file build/lib.linux-x86_64-2.6/RescueTimeUploader/extensions/Firefox-bin/extended_info have executable permissions?

I'm running into the same problem with Fedora 14. I'll try setting 755
