freezing up all the time..on firefox..downloading..etc..

Hi; I am so new to ubuntu 10.04 or any os other than windows and I am having a problem. My computer freezes up using firefox just surfing or when I try to download and when im not on the internet. It also froze up on me when I was choosing a screen saver from the list on ubuntu. I sure hope you can help me with this. Thanks.

Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. Could you please let us know what graphics card you are using? To get this info, you can open a terminal (Applications > Accessories > Terminal) and run the command "lspci | grep VGA"
