 I set the release pattern URL to http://pypi.python.org/packages/source/p/pytz/pytz-*.*. As per https://edge.launchpad.net/pytz/+milestone/2010h this is correctly populating the three source distributions.

However, that glob also matches the digital signatures also found at http://pypi.python.org/packages/source/p/pytz. These signatures are not being added the correct milestone, and instead are being added to their own milestone per https://edge.launchpad.net/pytz/main. For every sane milestone that gets created I get three insane ones.

If extract_version is given a filename with an unknown extension, the unknown extension is parsed as part of the version. We can catch this case by seeing if there is any remaining file extension after extracting the version - if there is none, assume this is a dud match because an extensionless file is useless to us anyway.
