i tried the advise at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Firewire and still get the "WARNING: raw1394 kernel module not loaded or failure to read/write /dev/raw1394! " I would love to get this to work, but am lost on where to start.

Using Ubuntu 10.4 LTS with Kino 1.3.4-1ubunutu1 and dvgrab 3.5-1

I have no idea what goes wrong but i do know there is nothing called raw1394 in /dev/ but i was pretty sure that the workaround posted here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Firewire should have solved this issue. Apparently not, and so i followed the advise, and try to post a report, if this is wrong, please guide me towards a correct action.
What happens is that this error message displays, even though my dv port seems to be recognized. i was hopeing to import video i shot on this camera!
