Webcam will not work reliably (screen blacks out)

Bug Description

Binary package hint: cheese

When running cheese or gstreamer-properties, errors like the following appear:

libv4lconvert: Error decompressing JPEG: unknown huffman code: 0000ffff

Webcam display is spotty (works for a second, then screen goes black).
