Thanks for your report.

There is no relevant information in the attached log files. Do you reproduce the failure if you open a terminal and run the following command:
$ sudo apt-get install fglrx

If it fails, then please attach the output of the command.

the following is the output I get when I enter the apt-get command in my terminal:

@phoenix_wnd, your problem is not with fglrx but with casper and reported in bug 557023

@Jean-Baptiste Lallement , yep, resetting the symbolic link to 'vmlinuz' like described in bug 557023 resolved my problems with casper and then I was abled to install fglrx
