Bug Description

Hi!

Thx for this great tool!

As an additional feature it would be really nice to support compressed images in the tool directly.
Usually images are not full and thus a 8GB images gets down to 1GB even with the simplest compression.

e.g:
foo.img.gz and automatically decompress it on write to stick.

Some other formats for future releases may also include (though even *.gz alone would be fine!)
foo.img.bz2
foo.img.xz (for lzma)

ps.: sorry for filing a bug for this. i didn't find any "feature suggestion" button anywhere here on the page.

thx!

Adding to wishlist. While this app was originally written for the Jaunty netbook release, it appears to have grown in popularity for a lot of other projects. Hopefully someone can spare some time to add these features in the near future.

I am going to target this for our first major release, 1.0. I hope to get this out by May 2013.

Keep an eye on our sourceforge site for news and announcements.

Tobin, is there any new ETA for a version with support for compressed images?

Thanks

Sorry, life seems to keep getting in the way of development time. On that note, I have a merge request from David Luca on SourceForge that appears to have enabled this, to some extent. I need to review it, but it looks promising.

I have updated the blog on the SourceForge project site with some details on what I'm up to. And thanks for your continued patience.
