Binary package hint: gnome-media

to reproduce, run gnome-sound-recorder from terminal, and this error should come up

(gnome-sound-recorder:7564): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_implements_interface_cast: assertion `gst_element_implements_interface (GST_ELEMENT (from), iface_type)' failed

no sounds were recorded. but with skype or any other application that uses the microphone (like web flash camera sites), it was just working.

Thank you for your bug report. The issue is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug the to the people writting the software (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME)

I can confirm the warning there on current lucid
