Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Oneiric Ocelot. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

Could you please confirm if this still exists? I have tried it with the latest Ubuntu release, Oneiric Ocelot, with empathy 3.2.0.1, and the new conversation window did not have any icons at all. See my screenshot attached.

@Muhammad bilal shahid (bil21al) : Yes, I still have this with empathy 3.3.4. Please note, that the default is to have the buttons-have-icons setting set to false, you have to override it manually (install dconf-tools, open dconf-editor, navigate to org->gnome=>desktop->interface, and check the buttons-have-icons checkbox) to see this problem. After you have set it, open the new conversation dialog and see the missing icon on the button.

Your video also shows the problem: check the Chat button in the bottom right corner, and see the icon before it, it's a black rectangle with the red circle on it, it's the missing icon.

No, it's fixed now, it shows a blue chat bubble as icon, with buttons-have-icons set to true.
