Bug Description
Binary package hint: brasero
After upgrading from Hardy Heron to Lucid Lynx, I cannot burn a data CD at all. I have not tried audio CD or DVDs. When I drag files and folders into the Nautilus CD burn window (burn:///), folders appear but files do not. In Brasero all appear. During the phase where Brasero estimates the size of the burn, dialogue boxes appear asking me such things as "Do you really want to include the file 'en' which has 7 child directories". It then goes on to explain that some operating systems won't be able to read the resulting CD but that Linux can. I have no file or folder called "en". Each time I try it comes up with a different file or folder name, which again does not exist. At some stage it asks me if I want long file names truncated for MS Windows compatibility. I answer Yes. Finally, when it is ready to burn a box appears asking me whether I really want to go ahead and burn a disc with filenames that are not Windows compatible. If I answer, Yes, go ahead, an error box appears saying an (unspecified) error occurred and that it is unable to burn the CD. It all worked fine in Hardy Heron. The hardware is exactly the same.
