Bug Description

Binary package hint: amsn

In Lucid 64-bit (upgraded from Karmic using alternate CD) aMSN freezes for seconds while typing in a chat window, and then become responsive again. I can switch to any other windows like nautilus or whatever, but when switching back to that frozen window I find it still frozen, I have to wait for few seconds till it become responsive, any keystrokes I do are actually being sent but not displayed on realtime.

Rephrase:
What happening is while I am typing in an aMSN chat window, it freezes, any key presses or mouse clicks are not shown, and all keystrokes I typed while frozen or mouse scroll are actually sent, but not displayed until it releases the freeze.
What should happen is I be able to see what I type or mouse scrolls all the time, this freezing is weird behaviour.

Thanks

ok... does this bug happens only on the 0.98.3 release or is a bug already present in a previously versio?

I mean, amsn is written in tcl/tk and so could "freeze" for some time...

I didn't use previous versions of aMSN under Ubuntu. I used previous versions under Windows 3 or 4 years ago, and I didn't experience that bug under Windows.

Ok, if you want to try the latest version you have to upgrade to at least maverick release or set up the maverick (or natty of course) repository.

Closing this bug as fixed

Thanks
