i915 "EDID checksum is invalid, remainder is 27" messages in dmesg

Bug Description

Graphics device is detected as an i915

    [ 9.002405] i915 0000:00:02.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 16
    [ 9.002413] i915 0000:00:02.0: setting latency timer to 64

X is working, but the dmesg output is being spammed with 52 messages like this:

Hi Erik,

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Tested a 2.6.34 kernel.org kernel and that did not have a problem.

I have the same problem with a HD monitor LG Flatron E2350V.
