Bug Description

I tried unity using the ppa packages to test unity and I must admit the work is very impressive but I did have a strange bug. When installing unity, I also got an update for libgtk2.20 but after this update eclipse cannot start in the account you are log on. If you are login in a console with the command su to another account you can start it.

I downgrade the packages the following package and everything is working now.

gir1.0-gtk-2.0_2.20.0-0ubuntu4_amd64.deb
libgtk2.0-bin_2.20.0-0ubuntu4_all.deb
gtk2-engines-pixbuf_2.20.0-0ubuntu4_amd64.deb
libgtk2.0-common_2.20.0-0ubuntu4_all.deb
libgail18_2.20.0-0ubuntu4_amd64.deb
libgtk2.0-dev_2.20.0-0ubuntu4_amd64.deb
libgail-common_2.20.0-0ubuntu4_amd64.deb
libgtk2.0-0_2.20.0-0ubuntu4_amd64.deb

Thanks for your bug report and for testing unity, which version of gtk did you have before downgrading?
2.20.1-0ubuntu2~menuproxy6 was the latest in the ppa, can you ensure you had the crash with that one?
You can try unity without this gtk version, it's only for the appmenu testing (menu in the panel).

FYI, with 2.21.1-1ubuntu3 and 2.21.2-0ubuntu1 on maverick, I don't see that issue.
