Bug Description
Ubuntu 9.10 & 10.04 (I run both)
I have installed OOo 3.2.1 (Oracle) and removed the OOo distro (with Novell Patches) on both distributions. Reason: I prefer the vanilla OOo (Oracle) build, and I don't like the open-office.
OOo requires Java to run the spell checker add-on, some wizards and the flat file HSQLDB database engine and the JDBC connector.
The software to install in the Ubuntu repository is openoffice.
1. Is "common" a kind of meta-package?
2. What do I need to run Java (Open Java) in Ubuntu running an OOo version of my choice.
3. This is just an assumption (reason of my doubt, see point 2) but I feel like a constraint when I want to install a Java package on my system and it break the application of my liking pushing me to re-install a software I do not want.
Thank you to help me out
after installing openoffice. org-java- common, removing it and re-installing openoffice. org-debain- menu (my Default), it is broken. I need to re-run dpkg -iR /DEB in the "all deb OOo 3.2.1 (Oracle) directory".
