Bug Description

Playing music in Rhythmbox from Panflute (0.6.2) works great though the tooltips displayed are empty of artist's and album's title and album art as well. The oddity is that switching to the next song shows at first a working tooltip and then an empty one. As you'll notice in the screenshot, hovering with the mouse on the applet shows a non-working tooltip. I'm using Rhythmbox 0.12.8 on Lucid with the latest updated packages and a modified (which displays the notification at the top) notifiy-osd 0.9.29.

This is a known issue with interacting with Rhythmbox, since it doesn't reliably report when it has album art available. When it starts a new song, the metadata often doesn't include the artwork, and Rhythmbox doesn't provide any notification of when the artwork (if any) gets downloaded. The applet tries to work around this by querying Rhythmbox again a few seconds later to see if art is now available, but that obviously isn't reliable.

Thank you Paul for your answer, yet is it the same problem which occurs with the artist and album? Because only the song's name is displayed correctly.

Using panflute 0.7.0 and rhythmbox 0.13.1 on lucid album art is perfectly working. But song artist and album arent.

In cases where that sort of thing has happened before, it was because of unusual characters in the name, either special characters or non-ASCII. Please file a separate bug report about that problem, including details of what the album and artist should be.
