intel driver makes system hang

Binary package hint: linux-image
sometimes the system hangs. here it hung while updating the flashplugin.
those crashes seem to occour randomly never before the first 10minutes after powering up, never under 1hour after powering up.
it doesn't seem to depent on the load or usage of the computer.
it looks like the system enters S3 powerstate but keeps unresponsive:
- at first i can see an tty with some messages left from booting up.
- then there is this animation which occours while shutting down, but in false colors.
- later i see an flashing underline which seems to be repeated hundreds of time, so that it fills the upper hals of the screen.
the light from numlock scan still be switched on/off.
the crash can not be recovered from tty because crtl+alt+f1 doesn't work.
when pressing hte powerbutton the system shuts down entirely:
- the ubuntu shutdown animation in false colors, and then the computer powering off.
