Only seeing 3.1GB of RAM on 64-bit machine

I installed Ubuntu onto my 64-bit when it had 2GB of RAM. I added another 2GB module of RAM and it only sees 3.1GB instead of 4GB. 4GB of RAM is reported in the BIOS.

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

I can confirm that the bug is still present with the mainline kernel 2.6.35-999-generic.

I've finally fixed this. It was a problem in the BIOS. I had to enable the "Memory Remap feature", and now Ubuntu can see all 4GB of RAM. Marking invalid.
