Bug Description
Binary package hint: partman-
ubiquity 2.2.24
partman-
I have an existing bios_grub partition on the disk. Here's the basic layout:
Model: ATA VBOX HARDDISK (scsi)
Disk /dev/sda: 21.5GB
Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B
Partition Table: gpt
Number Start End Size File system Name Flags
1 17.4kB 17.9kB 512B bios_grub
Now I run through ubiquity and tell it to use the largest continuous free space. It clobbers the bios_grub flag, and makes a new bios_grub partition instead that it decides to use:
Model: ATA VBOX HARDDISK (scsi)
Disk /dev/sda: 21.5GB
Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B
Partition Table: gpt
Number Start End Size File system Name Flags
1 17.4kB 17.9kB 512B
2 1049kB 2097kB 1049kB bios_grub
3 2097kB 20.5GB 20.5GB
4 20.5GB 21.5GB 938MB linux-swap(v1)
This was fixed in natty:
partman-auto (93ubuntu15) natty; urgency=low
* Add $reusemethod internal specifier, which excludes the partition if a
partition with the same method already exists.
* If there is an existing BIOS Boot Partition, reuse it rather than
creating a new one (LP: #746313).
