Recent upgraded kernels on my system lock at boot time displaying a black screen. This is still happening in Dapper with Ubuntu kernel 2.6.15-
The problem first happened between 2.6.15-
2.6.15-
Let me know if there is anything helpful I can do to help diagnose the problem. Obviously my machine is still usable, but it's inconvenient to have to pick out the old kernel version whenever I reboot.

Did you try to boot without 'quiet' and 'splash' options (hit F6 I think it is, for more boot options, and just remove them). I had to boot with 'acpi=off' as well for my computer not to hang (but it still didn't detect my USB stuff correctly, I'll file a separate issue about that).
