Seems to be, that I have the same bug.
FF doesn't play youtube videos in ubuntu 10.04, but plays sounds from the same videos.
I can see only a grey rectangles at the video area. Mouse clicking at the video area works well.
Important, that some flash videos on the other sites are played correctly, e.g. on rutube.ru.
Chromium also plays youtube videos correctly.
Bug appeared after several time of using ubuntu, maybe after updating, but not immediately after installing distro.
