Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.35-2-generic

My wireless connection doesn't work anymore with kernel 2.6.35-1 and 2.6.35-2.
It's an iwl3945 chip.
If i try to manually connect via wpa-supplicant it connects for a very short time then disconnects again.
This happens over and over again.

Additional Info:
WPA2-secured network with a preshared key.
Still works with 2.6.34-5-generic.

Hi Lodimer,

Please be sure to confirm this issue exists with the latest development release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If the issue remains, please run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 591899

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

Did you turn off the network-manager before starting the wpa-supplicant (sudo stop network-manager)? If not that would explain the frequent re-auths you see.

Anyways, I'm too having problems with iwl3945 and the 2.6.35 kernels (even system lockups). It didn't happen with a tailored -rc1 vanilla kernel so maybe it's a config problem - will do some testing as suggested.

I don't use network-manager.

@Jeremy Foshee
Did the apport-collect but with 2.6.34-5 and not the kernel i'm having the problems with.
Will test this one now:
