Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

Instructions to replicate:

Given any set of text, for example:

The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.

1) Select some text, for example "quick brown". Your clip board will now contain "quick brown".

2) Now hold shift, and click at the end of fox. Your terminal will now show "quick brown fox" highlighted.

In the previous versions of Gnome terminal (pre-lucid), and other Gnome applications, the highlighted text would be updated in your clipboard. In the current version of Gnome (lucid - gnome-terminal 2.29.6-0ubuntu5) terminal the clipboard will still contain the original select of "quick brown".

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Maverick Meerkat. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.
