Bug Description

:Ubuntu release :
-------------------------
lsb_release -rd output
Description: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
Release: 10.04

Kernel Version: 2.6.32-21-generic
X.Org Version : 1.7.6
=========================

Description of Issue:
-------------------------------

Ubuntu 10.04 GA is shipped with vmmouse and vmware_drv drivers ( with Xorg )and also vmxnet3 and vmw_pvscsi as inbox(upstreamed drivers).
However I am facing an issue where the vmmouse showing inconsistent (sluggish) behavior after installation & reboot Ubuntu 10.04 64bit desktop on a VM (Virtual Machine) created on latest issue of VMware ESX Server.
This issue is not hit with default configurations and also did not see on 32 bit desktop version.
Installation after other configuration seems to work fine.

I had hit this issue when using the following configuration after creating a VM.

default nic card: vmxnet3 (Vmware virtual network adapter)
default mem : 16g,2g
default scsi controller : vmware pvscsi (Vmware virtual storage adapter)

Actual result:
After installation and reboot ,vmmouse is not shown in X.org logs and movement is sluggish.

Expected result:
Mouse movement should be smooth.

Workaround:
The easy workaround we found is to reboot the Guest operating system (Ubuntu 10.04-64 Desktop).

Attached are the screenshots in Screenshot.doc for more details.

Please note that the issue may/may not hit on a consistent basis.
