Bug Description

Binary package hint: netbook-launcher

I have an Acer Aspire One, and started working with two displays.
Every time I access the main launcher screen (clicking in the upper left corner on the Ubuntu logo), all the applications that are positioned in the second display disappear even if "Always on top is activated".
I been using UNR for a while now, and know that this is the expected behavior for applications in one display, but I believe that that shouldn't happen when working with two displays...

Note: In the meantime if someone knows a workaround for this, it would be highly appreciated.

Is it really the expected behavior for launcher to override 'Always on top' of applications even in one display? And if so, what's the reasoning behind this?

I'm asking because I was about to report it as a bug when I came across this report. To me this seems like the launcher in effect breaks 'Always on top', regardless of number of displays.

I *believe* that the reason is the following: seeing as applications running in the UNR environment are always maximized (by default) and that the Netbook launcher works on fullscreen, the only way the the system has to show (send to the top layer) the launcher when asked is by ignoring the 'always on top' flag of every other window.
The problem is that (A) it doesn't know that the other windows are in different displays and that they should not be touched OR (B) the launcher assumes that it is present in all of the displays, either way it doesn't work as one would expect.

@Jani Uusitalo If it helps, I work a lot with the netbook and a projector (second display) and the classic Ubuntu desktop did the trick for me. (That was the only workaround I found)
