Thank you for your message.
Here is the backtace.
It is the first time I am recording this so I'm not sure it contains all that you need to understand the bug.

What I did while recording the bakctrace was:
-Click on "new message"
-The new message window appears instantly
-Wait for 30s whiie I cannot input anything (email adress, subject or mesage body)
-Close the new message window after I finally can input something
-Close evolution

Please tell me if you need more information.

it says the program exited normally, could you tr y the following?: reproduce the problem with evolution, make the ui to enter the freeze state, look for the program PID with ps , and pass that PID to gdb with the following command: gdb evolution PID . gdb will show you an stacktrace after that, let me know how it works, thanks.

In fact, everyhting comes back to normal after the 30s freeze.
So I exited evolution after the 30s freeze so that gdb will close as well.

I will try your suggestion.

Here is the new file.
I ran the command attach 7817 during the freeze and did nothing after the freeze ended.

The problem was linked to a problem in package gnome-keyring.

I solved my problem by downgrading gnome-keyring from "2.30.1-0ubuntu2" to "2.30.0-0ubuntu3".

Downgrading gnome-keyring also solved some problems with network-manager (also freezing) and empathy (unaccessible accounts).

As far as I am concerned this bug can be closed.

Thank you,

it's still an issue but closing this one since similar bugs are open on gnome-keyring, do you use a password-less login?
